SSI Level 2 Swim Teacher Certification

SSI Level 2 builds on the foundational skills from Level 1, empowering certified instructors to teach higher-level swimmers from Intermediate I through Swim Team Prep. This course emphasizes advanced stroke mechanics, breathing control, endurance training, and the introduction of competitive techniques such as starts, turns, and pacing strategies. Instructors will learn to guide swimmers through skill refinement, performance improvement, and preparation for competitive environments with confidence and precision.

Through a balanced mix of advanced theory, in-water practice, and supervised teaching, you’ll:

  • Master SSI’s progressive teaching approach for stroke refinement and performance improvement

  • Learn how to coach swimmers in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly with correct technique

  • Develop effective lesson plans for intermediate to advanced swimmers, including pacing, turns, and starts

  • Build confidence in preparing students for swim tests, school competitions, or club tryouts

  • Enhance your ability to assess, correct, and mentor swimmers through Swim Team Prep levels
