SSI Level 2 Swim Teacher Certification
SSI Level 2 builds on the foundational skills from Level 1, empowering certified instructors to teach higher-level swimmers from Intermediate I through Swim Team Prep. This course emphasizes advanced stroke mechanics, breathing control, endurance training, and the introduction of competitive techniques such as starts, turns, and pacing strategies. Instructors will learn to guide swimmers through skill refinement, performance improvement, and preparation for competitive environments with confidence and precision.
Through a balanced mix of advanced theory, in-water practice, and supervised teaching, you’ll:

Master SSI’s progressive teaching approach for stroke refinement and performance improvement

Learn how to coach swimmers in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly with correct technique

Develop effective lesson plans for intermediate to advanced swimmers, including pacing, turns, and starts

SSI Level 1
Outcome & Credentials
Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a digital SSI Level 1 Swim Teacher certification, authorizing you to teach:

Intermediate Series
Stroke refinement and endurance.
- Intermediate I
Prerequisite: Completed Beginner III
Focus: Stroke refinement and endurance
Goal: Swim 25–50 m using freestyle and backstroke with proper breathing and technique - Intermediate II
Prerequisite: Competent in Intermediate I
Focus: Introduce breaststroke and increase swim fitness
Goal: Swim 50–75 m with correct technique in freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke

Advanced Series
Master all four strokes.
- Advanced
Prerequisite: Completed Intermediate II
Focus: Mastering all four strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly)
Goal: Swim 100 m+ with proper turns, starts, and competitive stroke execution

Swim Team Prep Series
Train for competitions.

Prerequisite: Advanced level proficiency
Focus: Technique perfection, pacing, and race readiness
Goal: Train for competitive meets with interval sets, stroke drills, and race strategies
