Prepare for a Swimming Instructor Certification Enquiry
Choose a training pathway based on the learners you intend to teach, your current experience and the requirements of the employer, facility or jurisdiction where you plan to work. Course completion does not guarantee employment, and acceptance can vary between organisations.
Information to prepare
- Your country and preferred training location or delivery format.
- Current swimming, teaching, coaching or aquatic experience.
- The learner groups you intend to teach, such as children, adults, babies or developing swimmers.
- Existing first-aid, lifesaving, safeguarding or teaching qualifications.
- Any employer, facility or regulatory requirements you already know.
- Your preferred timeframe, subject to confirmed course availability.
How to compare SSI pathways
Level 1 provides a foundation for teaching developing swimmers. Level 2 addresses more advanced stroke development. Adult and baby/toddler pathways focus on the needs of those learner groups, while React Right covers emergency-response preparation. Exact prerequisites, assessment, delivery and certification scope should be confirmed before enrolment.
