Swim Schools International (SSI) Baby

SSI Baby Swim Teacher Certification

SSI Baby & Me equips certified instructors with the skills to introduce infants and toddlers (typically aged 6 months to 3 years) to the aquatic environment in a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate way. This course emphasizes water comfort, basic motor skill development, and bonding through parent-child interaction. Instructors will learn to create a nurturing learning experience that promotes early water familiarity and long-term swim readiness.

Through a balanced mix of early childhood theory, in-water practice, and supervised parent-child lesson delivery, you’ll:

  • Master SSI’s child-centered teaching approach using repetition, songs, and play

  • Learn how to safely guide infants and toddlers through foundational water movements and floating skills

  • Develop fun, age-appropriate lesson plans that encourage motor development and water comfort

  • Build parent engagement and confidence through structured parent-child interactions

  • Enhance your ability to support emotional, cognitive, and physical development in an aquatic setting
