SSI Adult Swim Teacher Certification
The SSI Adult Swim Program equips certified instructors to teach adults of all skill levels—from complete beginners to those looking to refine strokes or build swim endurance. This course emphasizes water confidence, adult-centered communication, efficient stroke development, and progressive goal-setting tailored to adult learners’ needs. Instructors will learn to create supportive, results-driven environments that help adults overcome fear, master techniques, and achieve personal swim goals with confidence.
Through a balanced mix of adult-learning theory, in-water instruction, and supervised teaching practice, you’ll:

Outcome & Credentials
Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a digital SSI Level 1 Swim Teacher certification, authorizing you to teach:

Adult Series
It’s never too late to learn
- Adult I
Target Group: Adults with little or no swim experience
Focus: Overcoming fear and gaining water confidence
Goal: Learn floating, basic strokes, and safe movement in shallow to mid-depth water - Adult II
Prerequisite: Comfortable with basic water skills
Focus: Stroke technique and breathing
Goal: Swim 25–50 m with freestyle and backstroke using coordinated breathing - Adult III
Prerequisite: Competent in Adult II
Focus: Swim endurance and stroke variety
Goal: Swim 50–100 m confidently with freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke
